As the pumpkins are frosted and the falling leaves raked, your Quadra Island Chamber Music board are already hard at work planning for a (fingers crossed) July 2022 festival – huzzah! Engrave your calendar for the week of July 18-23.

Cellist and artistic director Phil Hansen is planning a veritable banquet of music served by a variety of musicians for your enjoyment. We anticipate for 2022 many of the favourite musical personalities from years past to perform, whom we have come to appreciate so much over the years, as well as some musicians you may not have heard before. As usual, the line-up of top quality performers is international.

We will be following Covid protocol that is acceptable according to provincial guidelines at the time of the festival.

Our list of board members looks a little different these days. Catherine Smith, who has been a stalwart force on the board since the very first year and served as the president for the past two years, has stepped down. Geraldine Kenny and Nancy Dear have also decided to help the world in other ways. We extend deep and sincere thanks to all of them.

We welcome three new members: Anne-Marie Dryden, Erinn Timpson and Rob Wilson. Together with Phil Hansen, Kent Macaulay, Linda Lessard, Joan Brears, Owen Williams and Mary Pirie, there is lots of energy and ideas going into the planning of our next festival.

You can keep up with our latest updates on our beautifully revamped website. If you’d like to get in touch, just please use the website Contact form. If any of you are interested in volunteering and helping with the festival or if you would like to billet some of the musicians over the festival week in July, please let us know.

We hope you are as excited as we are about the prospect of finally getting together to enjoy fine music, live and in person. Let us entertain you!
